The "Fugaku Sanjurokkei" series, which includes "Kanagawa Okinamiura," and the "Hokusai Manga," which triggered the Japonisme trend in Europe in the 19th century, are known worldwide as Hokusai's representative works, but these are only a small part of his painting career spanning approximately 70 years.
This book introduces Hokusai's life as an artist, dividing it into six periods according to the changes in his style and the painting styles he mainly used.
The book contains approximately 480 works, including masterpieces from Japan and abroad, recently discovered works, and works on display for the first time. This book is a compilation of recent research results that will enable the discovery of new Hokusai's charms.
